Brotherhood Enrichment
A special Brotherhood enrichment and ceremony is held occasionally. It is an early opportunity for Ordeal members who completed their ordeal the prior year (and all other Ordeal members) to seal their Brotherhood in the OA. Brotherhood and Vigil members are encouraged to attend for fellowship and to help out, as well as to honor our new Brotherhood members. Those who complete Brotherhood conversion will be able to purchase a Brotherhood sash.
Ordeal
Ordeal is an occasion during the year for newly elected candidates to complete their induction into the Order of the Arrow. It is also a great opportunity for Ordeal members to seal their membership by completing their Brotherhood. There are always numerous projects and activities to give even the most active Arrowman something to do. In addition to the induction and service aspects of the Ordeal, both members and new members will enjoy great food, fun and fellowship.

Work Day
A work day is an opportunity to provide service to council properties. This might include routine upkeep and maintenance of camps, as well as storm damage recovery, when needed.
Fellowship
A Fellowship is a fun opportunity for fellowship and brotherhood. Events might include climbing/rappelling, archery, shooting sports, tomahawk throwing, stickball, patch trading, inter-chapter and ceremony team competitions, etc. It is an additional opportunity for Ordeal members to seal their membership by completing their Brotherhood. Traditionally, the Fall Fellowship is also when new Vigil members are called out.

Vigil Weekend
This is the weekend when all candidates for the Vigil Honor complete their Vigil. It may be held in conjunction with another event, such as Fall Fellowship. It is a time of fine food and fellowship for all Vigil members of the OA.
Section Conclave
This Spring weekend event is attended by all lodges from the SR-8 Section. The location varies, as does the service (host) lodge. It includes competitions in Indian events, training classes, patch trading, shows, special events, and, for your dining pleasure, excellent food throughout the weekend. Each lodge will have the opportunity to demonstrate what makes it unique, and to gain experience from each other.
This is one of the best ways to experience Scouting's premier high adventure base, Philmont Scout Ranch. For two weeks, participants see and experience all that Philmont has to offer and much more. For the first week, participants have the chance to make a significant difference to Philmont by participating in trail building in the backcountry. Work will include clearing terrain for trail and constructing switchbacks, retention bars, and several other erosion controls. The impact of this service will be felt by Scouts for decades. The second week of the program is spent experiencing Philmont in its finest. Unlike regular treks, instead of selecting from pre-planned routes, Trail Crews make their own itinerary. You can do and see just about anything, from the Tooth of Time to Baldy Mountain, your crew decides!
National Order of the Arrow Wilderness Voyage (Northern Tier)
For two weeks, you will join together with Arrowmen from around the country and experience all that the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in northern Minnesota has to offer. The first week of the program is spent giving back to the Boundary Waters through portage trail restoration work. Participants have the opportunity to leave their mark on the Boundary Waters that will enable millions of visitors each year to better enjoy their experience. Trail work involves restoring and protecting trails that have existed for centuries and are in dire need or repair. The second part of the program is a trek planned by the crew. From the 8-1/2 mile "Grand Portage" leading to Lake Superior, to the Height of Land, even the pictographs on Fishdance Lake, crews have done and seen all in the Boundary Waters.
National Order of the Arrow Wilderness Voyage: Canadian Odyssey
For two weeks, you will join together with Arrowmen from around the country and experience the wild beauty of the Quetico Provincial Park of Ontario, Canada. Like it's U.S. counterpart, the first week of the program is spent giving back to the Quetico through portage trail restoration work. Participants have the opportunity to leave their mark on the Quetico that will enable millions of visitors each year to better enjoy their experience. Trail work involves restoring and protecting trails that have existed for centuries and are in dire need or repair. The second part of the program is a 90 mile trek from Atikokan, Ontario to Ely, Minnesota

National Order of the Arrow Ocean Adventure (Florida Sea Base)
An opportunity to provide cheerful service while experiencing the adventure and fun of one of the greatest ecosystems on our planet - the Florida Keys and the waters which surround them. This ten day program will provide an array of service opportunities that include work helping to develop the Florida Keys Heritage Trail, removing invasive species in and around the Sea Bases' Big Munson Island, and supporting both the Crane Point Nature Center and Marathon Wild Bird Center in preserving the Keys flora, fauna and wildlife. You will camp at both Big Munson Island and Crane Point during the service portion of the program, after which you will move aboard a 40-50' sailing yacht for four days at sea. While afloat, you will experience the fun and excitement of life in the Keys from the unique perspective of a sailor as you sail, snorkel on pristine coral reefs, troll for sportfish, and swim in the warm waters of the Keys. Your program is a 10-day adventure in which you will experience wilderness camping, kayaking, sailing, fishing, snorkeling, team building (including a trip on a war canoe) and of course cheerful service. The program will be conservation based and will seek to help protect the eco-system of the Florida Keys.
National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC)
Every two years, Arrowmen from across the country gather on the campus of a major university for the National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC). These gatherings draw nearly 7000 Arrowmen, traveling from as far away as Europe and Asia, for five days of training, fun, and fellowship. With each conference, NOAC becomes more diversified, more fun, and more exciting.
NOAC has many different aspects and it is impossible to participate in every event in one year. Each year events are added and changed so you could go to NOAC every time and do new things each time. The main activities at NOAC include training, ceremonies evaluation, American Indian events, awesome shows, competitions, and Founder's Day. NOAC has something for everyone of all backgrounds and all ages. It is definitely one of Scouting's most unique and entertaining events.
ArrowCorps5
SummitCorpsThe OA has had a long-standing interest in coordinating a national service project, using the infrastructure and leadership established over many years of success at the BSA's high adventure bases. Working closely together, the United States Forest Service and the OA have chosen five project sites, spread across America, that will be the focus of our combined efforts. ArrowCorps5 (pronounced Arrow Corps Five) will provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for each participant to set an example of leadership in service to those who treasure our national forests. Five thousand physically fit and able volunteers (determined by the "Philmont Weight Limits for Backpacking & Hiking"), made up of youth and adults, will participate. The National Order of the Arrow committee and key sponsors will fund the projects. Participants will pay a reasonable fee to help pay for accommodations, meals and a full day of recreational activities during the projects.
SummitCorps will be similar to ArrowCorps5 and the OA High Adventure Programs (Philmont Trail Crew, etc). It will take place over four one week sessions in 2011: July 3-9, July 10-16, July 17-23, and July 24-30. Each week will be a separate session of SummitCorps, providing exciting opportunities for service, adventure and recreation. SummitCorps will be held at the New River Gorge National River in West Virginia, adjacent to the BSA's new high adventure base, the Summit Bechtel Family National Scouting Reserve. The main focus will be to improve the Garden Grand Hike and Bike Trail. Other projects will include the removal of invasive species.
